Late 15th Century Loan Box
Includes items that will let your class explore life in the Tudor period, such as domestic items made from a variety of material such as clay, wood and fabric, and writing materials etc.
Archaeology Loan Box
Archaeology has a crucial role to play in the curriculum where children can examine different types of evidence to find out how archaeologists and about the equipment they use. Our Archaeology Loan Box allows pupils to experience hands on activities such as handling and sorting artefacts and discovering the past through finds from pre-historic to modern times. The Box also includes some games to play in the classroom.
Outreach
A Viking / Tudor / Victorian / Archaeologist in the Classroom
Invite a character, fully kitted out, with authentic clothing, jewellery and other accessories, into your classroom to discover life in Viking / Tudor / Victorian age Britain. Examine the character's dress together with other period specific artefacts and resources to find out more about the past. By encouraging questioning and interactivity, these sessions provide an exciting way to target themes and activities, which are part of the National Curriculum.
Themes / Activities can include:
- Saga / storytelling Arts and Crafts Writing techniques
- Weapons Costume Toys and Games
- Object handling Homes Medicine Dressing up / role play
- Tudor Dance
Or we can tailor the sessions to your school's needs. Teachers are encouraged to discus their requirements prior to the visit.
Each session lasts two hours and the cost is £3.90 per pupil. The maximum class size is 30 children. Outreach sessions are available to schools within a 90 mile drive of York
